360 Market

Location: Downtown Winnipeg

Size:40,000 sq ft

Status: Academic

360 Market is a visionary mixed-use development in downtown Winnipeg, designed to activate the urban block through a vibrant ground-floor marketplace while fostering a highly connected residential community above.

The project integrates a supermarket on the first floor, a restaurant level on the second, study and community spaces on the third, and apartment units from the fourth floor upward. An underground parking garage supports the entire program, ensuring convenience and accessibility for residents and visitors alike.

Architecturally, the building is defined by its rotating circular rings—a series of shifting floor plates that wrap around a central void. Each level slides slightly from the one below, creating a rhythm of terraces, balconies, and outdoor pockets that encourage interaction and soften the transition between private and shared spaces.

At key levels, certain volumes intentionally protrude outward as cantilevered pods, becoming visual landmarks and functional extensions of the building: a greenhouse for urban agriculture, a multi-purpose event hall, and other specialized spaces. These elevated “moments” offer opportunities for community gathering, learning, and wellness.

A rooftop garden crowns the project, offering views, greenery, and a shared retreat in the heart of downtown.
360 Market aims to cultivate an environment where residents naturally meet, interact, and grow together—transforming urban living into a tight-knit, socially enriched neighborhood within a single architectural ecosystem.
